Google Chrome is currently encountering rendering problems with PDF files on both our Nature and SpringerLink platforms. This is a general problem with the Chrome browser following a recent update which has been highlighted in blogs and is not limited to our websites.
We understand Google are aware of the problem and are looking to release a fix in the near future. In the meantime, we can suggest the following workarounds:
- Try an alternative web browser such as Firefox/Safari/IE or Microsoft Edge
- Access the article HTML page on our platform and right-click on the Download PDF button. Then select Save link as… and save the file. This will download the file to your machine which will then be available to open in full, including via a PDF reader such as Adobe.
If you continue to experience problems having tried these workarounds then please contact our Online Service team at firstname.lastname@example.org who will be pleased to assist.
